The National Cancer Institute (NCI) is sponsoring a unique federated initiative to advance cancer research and treatment through development of the cancer Human Biobank (caHUB) as a national center for biospecimen science and standards. caHUB was created in response to the critical and growing need for high-quality, well-documented Biospecimens for cancer research.
SCI Team was tasked in supporting the development of web applications, portals and backend software, specifically for the Genotype-Tissue Expression (GTEx) system.
With a $870,000 contract SCI Team applied Agile Scrum methodology to this project. SCI participated in software development, integration, configuration and release management support. SCI managed and participated in the daily Scrum meetings, established requirements backlog and delivery schedules, prioritized the stories (features) and carried low work-in-progress limits.
SCI was able to provide comprehensive software and technical skills to the project and successfully cater to the needs of the National Cancer Institute.
